The Isle of Ceylon, blessed with a unique geographical formation with a network of 103 rivers flowing out of the country, harbors an extensive array of wetland Eco systems.
The arid zone of the Island-encapsulating the northwest part of the country with an annual rainfall of less than 50cm and an average temperature of 35°C is the storehouse for the country’s aquatic and terrestrial fauna and flora influenced by the existence of a large river basin (Kaveri) in the south-east of India millions of years ago.
Men with strong will power first set afoot on these shores of the Island in their quest for discovery shaping her destiny to become one of the world’s oldest civilizations. |
